So I have some pretty awesome news:

There's a woman writing some really cool princess-fairy tale stuff. She's hired me to draw all the illustrations for her stories and website. Its pretty much the most awesome job ever. After this I'll be able to replace my old pen-tablet and get a Cintiq. More importantly, though, she's a really cool, intelligent woman and I'm going to have a ton of fun working with her and her team.
And even more good news! I made another comic writer friend. He's already been picked up and published. Its pretty cool.

He wants me to draw one of his comics. Right now I've signed on to do the origin issue and one more, which is a total of ten pages, I believe. For the moment, I'm working with character designs. Its nice because he's very laid back and I can do this at my pace.
Its really cool because I get paid for both projects, both "bosses" are hella fun to work with so far and I can totally look my 8th Grade Guidance counselor in the face and go, "Boo Yah, Beotch!" I wonder if that's worth driving all the way back to my home town....
Better not, my karma is in a really nice place at the moment.
I'm excited because between these two very different projects, I've already been flexing my fingers artistically and I've only been "auditioning" for the last week. I've drawn so much though, just couldn't put a lot of it online yet. I'm happy because now I can start uploading more of my art instead of the half finished pieces I never get around to finishing. I've never really directed my drawing time before, so this has been very productive for me so far.
Now I need to get started. Between both projects I've got a good eight hours of drawing still ahead of me today!
